Artificial sky such as MIRRO BOX allows to simulate a distribution of lighting of the blue vault recommended by CIE with the term "OVERCAST". Such distribution of lighting is that traditionally simulated and used to plan a natural lighting and for which it is defined the Daylightfactor (DF%) in the internal points of the environment. All of this in order to evaluate the contribution and distribution of natural light in the same environment.
The artificial sky allows to study and evaluate on scale models (variable between 1:10 and 1:12) the contribution of natural light in an architectural project. In this sense it can be used:
dimensioned connection among transparent and matt surfaces;
kind of transparent surfaces (lateral, skylight);
position and shape of transparent surfaces;
colour choice and choice of finishing of internal surfaces;
evaluation of traditional and innovative shielding systems;
contribution of internal furniture elements.
