Our heavy duty seismic restraints are intended to provide a sturdy and cost-effective means to secure industrial machinery to the ground. However, the response of industrial equipment to seismic activity is very unpredictable given that every machine is a unique mechanical system and no two earthquakes are the same. For example, mechanical resonances can amplify the response and soil conditions can amplify the seismic event itself in a particular area.
