Fiber optic CCD spectrometer for fluorescence applications
The AvaSpec-ULS2048x16/64 Fiber Optic Spectrometers are the initial two new products launched in the Sensline High Sensitivity spectrometer family with high quantum efficiency and high UV and near infrared sensitivity. The detector pixels in the AvaSpec-ULS2048X16 measure 224µm high and for the AvaSpec-ULS2048X64 they measure 896µm high The instrument’s optical design is based on the AvaBench-75ULS Ultra Low Straylight symmetrical Czerny-Turner design. The image sensor is used as a linear array of 2048 pixels binning the vertical 16 or 64 pixels for optimal efficiency. The spectrometer has a fiber optic entrance connector (standard SMA, other options available), collimating and focusing mirrors and is available with choice of 16 different standard diffraction gratings to enable applications in the 200-1160nm range. The AvaSpec-ULS2048x16/64 come with a 16 bit AD converter, and USB2.0 high speed interface. These instruments are especially suitable for measuring low light, fluorescence and UV- applications but also have superior NIR sensitivity relative to front illuminated CCDs. Digital IO ports enable external triggering and control of shutters and pulsed light sources from the Avantes line of instruments. The new AvaSpec-ULS2048x16/64 have detectors with higher speed, lower noise, better anti-blooming and reduced etaloning compared to the AvaSpec-2048x14. Optional Bluetooth® (-BT) communication and an SD card for on-board storage of spectra are available. The AvaSpec-ULS2048x16/64 runs on USB power and comes with AvaSoft-basic, a complete manual and USB interface cable. Multiple USB2 spectrometers with different detector types can be externally coupled.
