Optical low straylight spectrometer
AvaSpec-ULS-TEC
Avantes
The AvaSpec-ULS TEC spectrometers are the newest spectrometers in the SensLine, where the CCD detector is mounted on a newly designed three-stage Peltier cooling device. This Peltier cooling element can reduce the temperature of the CCD chip by -35 °C, improving the dark baseline and PRNU level by a significant factor. As an additional benefit from the cooling, the dark noise is reduced by a factor of 2-3. Apart from the benefit of an ultra low straylight optical bench, the size of the ULS-TEC is reduced with more than 35% versus the previous TEC spectrometers.
The above features enable the AvaSpec-ULS TEC to be implemented in low light-level applications, such as fluorescence and Raman measurements, where integration times of more than 5 seconds are needed. The AvaSpec-ULS TEC can be delivered with 2 different TE cooled detector arrays with (2048L / 3648 pixels) as 1- or 2-channel instrument and has all the standard options, gratings and specifications the standard AvaSpec has. The AvaSpec-ULS TEC is built into a newly designed housing, integrated temperature regulator, USB2 high speed interface and has 2 cooling fans to actively ventilate the heatsink of the Peltier cooling elements and an internal power supply.
