Decarbonisation via resin makes it possible to reduce the total alkalinity (TAC) of raw water.
BABCOCK WANSON has developed a process to rationalise and limit the size of installations: the Carbomix® is a compact installation in which decarbonisation and softening phases are carried out in a single exchanger.
The Carbomix® exchanger contains two types of resins which settle in a series of beds because of their different densities.
When saturated, the Carbomix® exchangers are regenerated by successive passages of a hydrochloric acid and brine solution (sodium chloride).
Exchanger regeneration is automatic.
