The mP5 is 14 x 14 mm wide and 3.5 mm high, and thus smaller than a European 1-cent coin, weighs just 835 mg, and pumps liquids or gases at flow rates between 50 nl/min and 5 ml/min for liquids and 50 µl/min to 15 ml/min for gases. State-of-the-art micro injection-moulding technology brings the minipump down to an amazingly low price if the unit quantities are sufficient. The device is thus the first micropump in existence that can be used as disposable units.
