Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is an almost chemically inert thermoplastic material which retains useful mechanical properties over a wide range of temperatures. These characteristics have caused PTFE to be used as a sealing material, particularly where lubrication problems exist.
In order to meet the demanding physical properties required, Crossley 'O' rings are manufactured from moulded stress-relieved virgin materials that are processed under strict controls to ensure they meet dimensional stability and conform to the highest standards.
