PTFE chevron seal
Beldam Crossley
These seal rings are normally used in sets as valve stem or reciprocating pump packings. A set is usually made up of a male and female end rings for ease of seating in the gland.
Two standard 'V' forms are used. The first 60° and 90° levels for low and medium pressure service, and the second has 90° levels only, for high pressure service. In both cases a central gap is formed to give the flexure required under pressure.
The number and combination of rings per set is dependent upon the pressure and the depth of the gland.
