Belt Technologies, Inc. designs and manufactures pulleys specially engineered to run in conjunction with stainless steel belts and tapes. Pulleys can be constructed to insure accurate positioning, repeatability and drive performance. Features such as timing elements, relief channels and the selection of materials are considered to maximize the performance of the application. All pulleys are designed with keyways or shaft locking assemblies for integration with drive or idler shafts.
Friction Pulleys
Friction pulleys are a simple, low cost solution for driving metal belts and maximizing belt life. Pulleys are typically made of aluminum and hard coated for a wear resistant surface. Stainless steel for chemical resistance and plastic composites for weight considerations can also be used. I-Beam and Capped Tubed pulleys are used on friction belts when the weight of the pulley would adversely affect the rotational inertia of an aggressive precision position indexing motion.
