Description

The LineGuard 2300 Electronic Linebreak Detection System is a self-contained pipeline monitoring and linebreak detection device intended to be installed at a pipeline valve site and is designated to provide data acquisition and supervisory control (both locally and remotely through telemetry/SCADA) of a single valve actuator. The LineGuard 2200 guards your pipeline in three ways - rate of pressure drop (ROD), low pressure protection and high pressure protection. Further it records data for future analysis. The LineGuard 2300 samples pressure and calculates a rate of pressure drop from the pressure samples. The LineGuard 2300 samples readings taken every second and calculates the average pressure. The number of pressure samples, or averaging rate, contained in the moving pressure average can be configured from one to 12 readings and defines the window used to filter instantaneous variations of the analog readings. The LineGuard continuously monitors pipeline pressure and detects static pressure conditions and ROD conditions. These configurable conditions are classified as "major" or "minor" events. The LineGuard keeps a log of pressure and ROD at regular configurable intervals when these events are detected. It initiates a valve closure when a major event persists for a predetermined length of time, exceeding the "event duration" set point. The valve closure may be selectively disabled depending on the source of the major event. A date and time stamped "event" and "alarm" log is also kept in memory.
