Description

Overview Specifically designed to treat acid gas emissions from particulate laden combustion flue gas and process operations, the Series 9500 Spray Tower Scrubber is an extremely simple gas scrubbing device capable of 99% control efficiency. The scrubber consists of a fully open vertical vessel fitted with banks of hydraulic atomized spray nozzles. Nozzles feature an ideal droplet size distribution to achieve maximum mass transfer efficiency with a special non fouling large particle passage design to enable handling scale forming limestone, hydrated lime or sodium carbonate based scrubbing reagents. An integral sump section enables scrubbing liquid recirculation, and if applicable optional air sparger systems for oxidation of sulfite generated salts. Unit can also be designed to produce gypsum. All units employ our advanced design chevron mist eliminators for maximum spray droplet carryover elimination. An extremely low pressure drop enables usage of an existing source fan in many cases. Available Materials of Construction Mild Steel, 304, 316 and AL6XN Stainless Steels, High Nickel Alloys, FRP, Polypropylene Capacity Size Range (Gas Handling Capacity) 2,500 thru 500,000 cfm Pressure Drop Range 1" thru 2½" w.c. Contaminant Removal Efficiencies Particulate Removal: 2 microns and above from 95% Water soluble gases up to 99.5% Typical Applications Include Removal of sulfur dioxide, hydrochloric acid and carbon dioxide gases from power boilers and other combustion sources Flue gas desulfurization Soluble mercury compounds Process gas scrubbing
