During operation, the material is rapidly sheared and disintegrated by high frequency mechanical action. Complete homogenization of soft tissue (muscle, liver, brain, etc.) is usually achieved in one minute or less. The 1/8 inch diameter, 6 inch long titanium probe easily fits into microvials or deep narrow vessels. The Sonozap has outstanding specs: tip energy 125 Watts/cm2 and a stroke of 90 microns. It also has advanced features such as auto-tuning, auto-power demand and overload protection. Being cordless and light weight, the Sonozap can be hand-held or stand mounted.
