Suitable for a continuous purification of soiled cooling lubricants which are produced during the operation of machine tools. It makes sense to use such a Drum Filter with high throughput rates, simply because the throughput in a Drum Filter is 3 or 4 times higher than in a Gravitation Band Filter while the filtration area is identical and no filtration means are consumed by the Drum Filter.
Function:

Soiled cooling lubricant flows from the machine tool into the dirt accumulation chamber of the filter via the admission distributor. A filter drum is installed inside the dirt accumulation chamber, the jacket surface of which is provided with a seamless stainless steel filter cloth. Thanks to the pressure drop L/p generated by a vacuum suction pump between the dirt accumulation and inner chambers of the filter drum, the liquid is sucked into the filter drum while any chips and dirt particles are filtered out through the filter cloth. The filter drum is set in rotational motion and the filter sludge cake is lifted from the filter drum by a stationary wiper, before being removed by scraper strips linked to each other by endless chains and driven by a gear motor.
