Cutting with the speed of light, Laser cutting has a very special place in the BWCutters portfolio offering a specialities less suited to blade cutting such as acrylics and is particularly popular with sailmakers and kitemakers who need to seal the edge of their material as they cut.
BW Cutters have been manufacturing laser cutting for the technical textile industry for over twenty years and still have customers using their original cutters we are specifically a flatbed cutting machine manufacturer and it was BW Cutters that introduced laser cutting into this industry sector.
Our customers are worldwide from USA to China and are used for example by the largest sail making companies in the world, such as Elvstrom-Sobstad and Hoods
One important factor in any Laser Cutting machine is the Laser unit itself the quality and reliability of this is critical and we have a long relationship with our supplier Synrad out of Seatle who offer a very efficient unit within a lighter mass than alternative manufacturers. This enables us to carry the unit on the gantry with no reduction in speed and movement. The fact that we carry the unit horizontally on the gantry then allows us to deliver the cutting beam to the material in the best and most efficient way, basically the distance between the unit and cutting point is only the height of the gantry meaning that the cutting beam length is as short as possible.
Another very important feature with our laser is that we deliver dc voltage directly to the laser head not through an expensive RF cable which would lead to significant power loss and such a long RF cable would can be prone to wear and tear damage.
