It's back and better than ever! These low-cost optical rails originally from New Focus™ weigh 19 oz/ft (1.8 kg/m), yet they are rigid enough for portable setups. For your convenience, there are both metric and English scales on each rail. The quasi-kinematic, quick-release rail carriers have a spring-loaded lever that allows them to be locked in place without introducing motion. An 8-32 (M4) screw permanently locks the carriers.
