Hägglunds motion control valves are available in several models, each providing a specific function. Among the available functions are:
* Displacement shift, which yields twice the speed with the same oil flow
* Free circulation mode, which allows the motor to be engaged and disengaged with the machine in motion
* Freewheeling mode, which is commonly used for shooting out the net in trawling applications
Most motion control valves can be used in both open and closed systems. There is also a proportional directional control valve for use only in open systems, which provides a useful counterbalance function for winches.
