The ElectroForce® 3550 test instrument features a 15 kN (3,370 lb) dynamic force capability, and this configuration has two linear motors mounted in the baseplate. Our newest 3520 test instrument has a single motor mounted in the baseplate, and it is rated to 7.5 kN capacity. Each instrument has 50 mm (2 in) displacement, and an optional +/- 49 N-m torsion motor is available. Dynamic performance is dependent on test specimen characteristics, fixturing and test specimen configuration.
