Ethernet Passive Optical Networking (EPON) silicon and software solutions are focused on access network applications for the FTTx market, supporting EPON at 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps speeds. Broadcom's EPON products enable service providers and carriers to deliver residential broadband, voice, and IPTV services, enterprise services such as voice, TDM, and Internet connectivity, as well as 2.5G, 3G, and 4G cellular backhaul transport services.

Broadcom-based EPON networks support 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps downstream speeds simultaneously, enabling rollout of new services without network disruption. All silicon and software are standards-based, enabling faster time-to-market of interoperable central-office/head-end systems and subscriber Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
