The material, which is usually injection-moulded and, at high load capacities, also cast, also has excellent resistance to environmental influences such as cleaning agents, oils, salts, bases or acids and also good temperature resistance. For this reason, polyamide is highly economical to use in many applications, also due to its good resistance to cleaning. Other materials for plastic wheels Alternatively, plastic wheels made of polypropylene are used. This material has a slightly lower resistance to environmental influences, but offers an excellent price-performance ratio. Extremely heat-resistant plastic wheels are made of phenolic resin - a thermosetting plastic - or thermoplastic compounds. They can be used up to + 350 °C or for short periods up to 400 °C.
