Solid state relay CAL ControlsServer Software makes the connection of CAL3300, CAL9300, CAL9400 and CAL9500P series of controllers into automation software quick and simple, allowing seamless integration of data from the shop floor to the office.
CAL can supply a range of solid state relays (SSRs) to be used as output devices for switching heaters. CAL recommends that for the high speed switching times associated with temperature control, customers should specify solid state relays rather than conventional mechanical contactors. Solid state relays are made of silicon and have no moving parts, they are therefore significantly more reliable than a mechanical contactor. Some SSRs require to be fitted with a heat sink to meet their current capability, the size of heat sink needs to be calculated to avoid overheating. An easy solution is to pick the Solitron range which have the necessary heat sink fitted. Triac based SSR Older low-cost SSR, requires heat sink and panel mounting 10 & 25 amp AC RMS rating 230 VAC RMS Thyristor based SSR Widely used industrial standard type, requires heat sink and panel mounting Single pole, terminal cover and LED Indicator 25, 50, 75 amp AC RMS rating 230 & 480 VAC RMS Triac or alternistor based SSR requires heat sink and panel mounting Single pole, terminal cover and LED Indicator 10, 25, 40 amp AC RMS rating 230, 400, 480 VAC RMS Mini-Solitron Fitted with heatsink, DIN rail fitting or backplate mounting Rising clamp terminals, LED indicator 20, 30 amp AC RMS rating 120/230 VAC, 400/480 VAC |
