COUNTERS CANBERRA Industries was the first nuclear instrument manufacturer to introduce a comprehensive data counting system. The original system was based on numerous basic nuclear counting building blocks such as counters and timers, and incorporated “daisy chain” readout capability for digital information. Designed to take advantage of current electronics technology, the Model 512 Dual Counter/Timer features 250 MHz throughput for negative input pulses, and 25 MHz throughput for positive input pulses. A standard RS-232C Serial Interface provides computer control of all 512 functions except the communications parameters which may be adjusted via front panel contr,supols. The Model 512 Dual Counter Timer provides two counters with 1015-1 count capacity and two high resolution timers with 0.1 ìs preset capability. It has five counting modes and a self-test mode for maximum flexibility when used in different counting/timing applications.
