Flexible coupling: jaw coupling CANDY CONTROLS
A jaw coupling is made with two metallic hubs with an elastomer (plastic) called the spider. The spider material is soft and mainly designed to absorb vibration. It is the first piece to wear and need to be replaced. The unit functions to minimize parallel or angular misalignment at high rpm. The spider center is ideal for motor connection applications needing shock absorption.
Two metallic hubs & a spider (elastomer)
• Conventional straight or curved jaw
• Ideal for servo applications
• Excellent shock absorption
• Curved jaws reduce deformation of spider
• Limits centrifugal force
• Balanced to handle high RPM, 40k+
• Functions with minimal parallel or angular misalignment
• Unit Transmits torque in event of spider failure
• Mix and match spider to accommodate multiple environments and applications
