Die casting machine for electric motor rotors
Cannon Group
These machines, named ROTORCAST, are of a vertical type and consist of these main parts:
- Tie bars
- Platen Holding the clamping cylinder
- Movable platen holding the top half die
- Intermediate platen holding the bottom half die
- Platen holding the injection group
The technology is based on a direct injection system, which, thanks to capillary channels, can guarantee a perfect filling of the die cavities.
The injection process control, the monitoring of temperatures, speed and pressure allow a complete supervision of the installations as well as a statistic analysis of the production.
Cannon T.C.S can also supply working cells - mainly for medium and small rotors - complete with:
- Automatic loading of the lamination stacks on the die-casting press
- Automatic dosing of molten aluminium
- On line skimming and marking of the rotor
- Automatic slug ejection removal by means of a motorised conveyor
- Heat treatment with an induction furnace to increase rotor electrical efficiency (the operation is preceded by rotors watercooling and is followed by aircooling)
- Rotor hole finishing
- Automatic check of rotor dimensions and electrical test
- Automatic rotors unloading
All the above operations are made on line. The working cell can be provided also with a tailor-made die to guarantee the quality or the end product.
