Polyurethane foam dispensing system (refrigerators)
90° - 270°
Cannon Group
Its innovative concepts - the patented zero-time-plug-change Rotoplug system for cabinets, or the rotary Drum system for doors and small panels - have changed the way refrigerators are produced.
The Rotoplug system, now widely used throughout the world, is a Cannon patented solution designed to change the cabinet model within the service time - Zero Time Mould Change - for two or four plugs.
The plugs are mounted and pre-heated on a rotating frame above the fixture. A new model arriving from the pre-assembly line signals the correct plug to be brought into position through a 90°, 180° or 270° rotation; side wall adjustment also takes place if necessary.
The whole operation occurs in seconds, totally eliminating lost time during mould changes. The plugs remain fixed to the rotating frame, which ensures accurate alignment during all model changes. The end walls and compressor step are mounted together with the relevant plug on the rotating frame.
The Drum system (a door-manufacturing machine for medium production series conceived by Cannon in the early '80s) consists of a polygonal structure with stop-and-go rotary movement. Each mould carrier, fixed to the rotating frame, is made up o f two heated platens, hinged on one side and equipped with a clamping system on the opposite one.
The design lends itself to open-pour and closed-pour injection. Door loading and unloading can be manual or automatic operations.
