Filled distribution transformer
max. 7 MVA, max. 72.5 kV | Bio-SLIM®
CG Power Systems
The difference between SLIM® and Bio-SUM® is the application of a fully bio-degradable transformer fluid, an ester, which allows it to be used in environmentally sensitive locations, such as offshore and in water-catchments. Esters are closer to mineral oils than silicone fluids in their electrical and cooling performance.
SLIM® distribution transformers
SLIM® transformers are smaller and lighter, are capable to handle severe overloads and are safer due to the application of Class K dielectric fluids. As a leader in transformer design Pauwels has teamed up with DuPont, which has an unmatched reputation in the development of synthetic insulating materials for high performance applications, such as Nomex®. As both companies pooled their skills and expertise for liquid filled distribution and medium-power transformers, the SLIM® was born. The SUM® uses proven technologies in an innovative design, combining Nomex® thermal insulating technology with a class K (fire-point>300 degree C) dielectric fluid. The result is a compact, reliable, transformer with high overload capacity.
