Product Overview
STATCOM is used for centralized reactive power compensation and harmonic suppression in a power system.
STATCOM is an IGBT based power electronics device. It uses IGBT and inverter technology.
It actively eliminates 100% harmonic distortion & reacts instantly to varying loads. This is done by injecting additional currents as required in order to cancel the harmonic components of the non-linear loads.
Every 415 V consumer of Electricity Board using large number of non- linear loads and aiming at to have \'UNITY POWERFACTOR\' or to have \'A Desired Power Factor\' should possess a STATCOM.
STATCOM is used for reactive power compensation in a system having non-linear loads like drives, electric arc furnace, welding loads etc.
