CG Autotransformers are used in pwer applications which interconnect systems that are operating at defirrent voltage classes like a 400 kV to 220kV for transmission. Conversions of domestic bands to world bands also uses Autotransformers. Three-phase autotransformers with taps at the common neutral end are the common links between the 400 kV and 275 kV `SuperGrid`networks. It is made with a common windind and a separate low voltage winding. Auto transformers are tailor-made products with various designs depending on the impedance levels (constant Ohmic and constant percentage), transmission voltage and cooling requirements which are commonly provided with on load tap changer for voltage variation. Special autotransformers with automatic tap-changing equipment are inserted as voltage regulators for long distance rural power distribution lines for customers to receive same average voltage as those closer to the source.
