Spring applied single disc safety brake, electromagnetic release
CHAIN TAIL CO., LTD.
When the ABS is under load (non-magnetized) in a magnetic brake, its design causes the spring of the coil to hold the brake piece in place and create braking torque through its friction. When the coil is energized and magnetized the armature with its primary brake piece is compressed further and the magnetic core is attracted so that braking action stops.
If the magnetic current is cut off the tension of the coil spring will cause the armature to hold the brake piece in place so that the brake is activated.
