The ECA 2100/ECAT 2100 is an essential tool for charge measurement in water treatment, wastewater treatment, pulp & paper, and several other industries. The ECA series provides affordable and easy to use laboratory charge analysis using the streaming current principle, which is comparable to zeta potential. The ECAT offers a built in automatic titrator for added convenience.

In water and wastewater applications, the ECA can be used to quickly find the optimum coagulant dosage much faster than conventional jar testing. The ECA is responsive to colloidal and soluble charged species making it an excellent tool for determining an accurate dosage when swings in turbidity and organics occur. The easy setup and use of the ECA ensures fast response time and gives the operators the tool they need to optimize turbidity and TOC removal. Coagulant dosage is determined by titrating a raw water sample with coagulant until the isoelectric point (neutral) is reached. The amount of coagulant needed to reach neutral correlates to an optimum dosage of coagulant in most cases*.
