A typical emi emission is test conducted using a broadband EMC professional antennas in the far field such as biconical, log periodics and horns. Usually at 1, 3 or 10 meter distance. If the product's emissions levels are above the levels set by test standard, the cause of the emission must be identified by the test engineer. The near field probes are used to find source of the emission at circuit level of the product. A typical EMC antenna is physically too large to make these measurements. The small hand held near field probes included in the PS-400 and PS-500 probes sets will allow test engineer to probe hard reach areas of the product.
