This appliance is used to simultaneously perform a certain number of operations and insert a block which requires manual intervention in order to be cancelled. It is used in conjunction with automatic protective devices and intervenes in the event of machine faults of such nature as to require an inspection or check on service conditions. Therefore the lock-out relay prevents restoration of service until the standards conditions have been manually reset.
