Granite as material for optical plates brings important advantages for many applications. The absence of internal stress and the low thermal expansion coefficient assure long-term stability. The acid resistance, the hardness and the high achievable surface quality set granite apart from other construction materials.


With a density comparable to aluminum and a high stiffness the first structural resonances are so high that possible vibrations normally show negligible small amplitudes. The surface finish is grinded according to ISO 8512-2, grade III, and low reflecting which makes granite plates an ideal choice for laser applications. A 100mm grid of M6 threaded inserts is the standard mounting option.
