SLEEVES
Craftsman can design an Expanding Mandrel system to suit your exact production requirements. Listed below is a selection of the common sleeves and other clamping methods to support the component on the mandrel. These can be combined with most actuation and mounting methods to produce a complete mandrel to your specification.
Standard sleeves :
Standard sleeves are made of high quality steels, hardened and ground to precision limits. Sleeves from Ø12 to Ø500mm can be produced and accuracies of 0.005mm T.I.R achieved at nominal size.
The slots are fully sealed to prevent ingress of swarf and coolant oil into the mechanism. Positive release is incorporated to eliminate the need for self releasing tapers. Threaded and splined sleeves can also be produced, in line with customers' requirements.
