The three available sizes have the smallest possible minimum apertures per given maximum aperture diameter. Experience has shown that this choice maximizes their flexibility in the lab.
No reflective surfaces or markings are present on the iris holder faces. This ensures minimum stray light due to the iris holder itself. These iris diaphragms may be easily mounted to posts via an 8-32 or M4 tapped hole in the base.
