Even simple weight measurements can claim lives where flammable substances such as petrol are present. With the HV-CEP/HW-CEP series of intrinsically safe platform scales, you can ensure safety and security with minimum investment when weighing in potentially explosive environments. These scales are certified by IECEx, ATEX and FM/FMc for use at locations where ignitable concentration of flammable gases, vapors or liquids are present continuously or for long periods of time under normal operating conditions (i.e. Zone 0, or Division 1 in the US). The HV-CEP series offers three multi-interval—the lighter the target object, the finer the readability—models while the HW-CEP series four high-resolution models for you to select one that best suits your requirements. All models have an IP65 dust & waterproof base unit with a stainless steel (SUS430) pan that allows washing with water as well as weighing of wet objects without problems. On top of being intrinsically safe, the scales promote greater productivity. High-speed measurement—response within 1 second and 1.5 seconds (typical for the HV-CEP series and HW-CEP series respectively)—surely helps enhance throughput. Further, with multi-colored 5-step LED comparator (traffic) lights, check weighing (judging whether the measured weight is within the designated limits for packing, filling, etc.) becomes far more accurate and efficient than with a numeric display alone. The HV-CEP/HW-CEP series operates for approx. 1,500 hours on four D batteries with LED and backlight OFF (or approx. 1,000 hours with LED and backlight ON), which eliminates the need for securing power from a safe area via a safety barrier.
