What if we told you: you can enjoy both high precision and large capacity in one scale for an affordable price? If you like the idea, you will also like A&Ds new EK-L series of precision bench scales. The EK-L series includes two types of models for you to choose from depending on your intended use. Specifically, the EK-15KL, the higher resolution model, provides 0.1 g readability to the capacity of 15 kg. This model is ideal for use where high precision is required for a wide measurement range, such as for measurements of precious metal blocks. On the other hand, the EK-30KL, the larger capacity model, has the smart range function of 3 kg × 0.1 g and 30 kg × 1 g. That is, the scale interval switches from 0.1 g to 1 g when the display value exceeds 3 kg, but its precision range (3 kg × 0.1 g) can always be restored by performing tare. The EK-30KL is especially useful when the gross weight exceeds 15 kg (the capacity of the EK-15KL), yet 0.1 g readability is necessary to measure the net weight. For example, it is possible to measure with precision the weights of ingredients while adding them into a heavy container, by taring the weight of the container before each ingredient is added. Both models have a sufficiently large (300 × 210 mm) weighing pan to enable efficient measurements of bulky objects or quantities. A stainless steel (SUS430) cover also protects the weighing pan from scratches and contamination. The scales come equipped with an RS-232C interface as standard.
