Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) is an optical technique ideal for non-intrusive 1D, 2D and 3D point measurement of velocity and turbulence distribution in both free flows and internal flows.

Science and industry apply our LDA systems to gain a clearer understanding of fluid mechanics. The measurement results are important steps in fine-tuning product designs to improve aerodynamic efficiency, quality and safety.

Application areas with Laser Doppler Anemometry include:
Wind tunnel velocity experiments for testing aerodynamics of e.g. cars, train, aircrafts buildings and other objects/structures.

Velocity measurements in water flows (e.g. research in general hydrodynamics, ship hull design, rotating machinery, pipe flows, channel flow etc.).

Spray research where there is a need to measure droplet velocities inside the nozzle or at the nozzle exit.

Environmental research (combustion research, wave dynamics, coastal engineering, tidal modelling, river hydrology etc.).

Experimental verification of CFD models
