Three significant trends are driving tool development and application in many areas of the cutting tool industry; widespread prevalence of titanium and other high temperature, ferrous alloys; increased demand for productivity; a desire on the part of many end users to minimize tool changes. Data Flute has expanded the SSI-4 series and developed the new SSI-5 series of tools in direct response to these trends.
Over the past few months we examined our SSI-4 series with an eye toward expanding our offering. The result is that the SSI-4 has grown from its original set of 16 standard shank sizes and 8 necked shank items to a series that offers 122 different sizes, not including the different radii offered. The updated series will include the following assortment:
* 58 Standard Shank
* 29 Reduced Neck
* 29 Ball Nose
* 6 3/8" Shank Tools

The assortment of sizes, shanks and radii reflect the diversity of machining challenges that our end-user customers face each and every day. We are committed to the belief that tailoring the tool to the application is key to driving productivity. The proven geometry of the SSI-4, coupled with the expanded size offering, will provide you with the ability to select the best tool and the best size for the job at hand.
