Sand/Anthracite Filters
For removing suspended solids. Supporting layers of graded gravel are covered by a layer of 16/30 grade filter sand. This, in turn, is covered by filter grade anthracite. The coarser angular grains of anthracite form an efficient in-depth filter medium. This protects the filter sand, thereby reducing the possibility of blinding the sand layer which is then used to polish the water.
