The GMX 200 S linear has everything the present GMX linear series milling and turning centres also have, and it offers everything that has also brought the other members of this DMG series worldwide success. The undisputed highlight is a world first: an adaptation of the new Siemens SolutionLine controller with integrated ShopTurn programming system. For the first time the GMX 200 S linear can now enter the field of graphically aided shop programming specifically for milling and turning centres, reducing these previously complex processes in many peoples’ minds to a level as easy and reliable as that for a universal lathe – including a perfectly simple choice of required cycles and above all a 3D workpiece simulation for all turning and milling operations extending to the b axis contour. In short, the user can now obtain more quickly and reliably the finished part. And, not least of all, the ShopTurn feature makes the new GMX 200 S linear a high-productivity tool for mid-range piece numbers as well as a flexible multipurpose centre for smaller batch sizes and jobbing work, with no limits to the complexity of the workpieces.
