Dorvic caterpillar action skates operate by the action of an endless roller chain revolving around the centre member of the body, this allows very large weights to be supported and moved. This principle provides an extremely low coeffiecient of friction, usually between around 3% to 7% of total load.

Supplied in various designs and capacities. Models from 15 tonnes to 400 tonnes per skate. Can be used in multiples, either normally in the chain downward position or inverted to act as a skid bank. These heavy duty skates can also be supplied with side guide rollers for running along tracks. (Details on request.)

Heavy Duty skates are all steel construction with hardened centre load plates and alloy steel roller chains.
