It's a security system that allows obtaining a complete mechanical rod-locking/rod-clamping. At the moment where a malfunction or power failure occurs, and whatever the position of the piston rod is, this mechanical system fixes the piston rod in place, and allows safety, where men or machines are at stakes. The unlocking system is obtained with a simple internal hydraulic pressure restart of the cylinder.
