In addition to the features on the basic models, these extruders are available with a vented zone for outgassing and interchangeable grooved feed zones. Screw lengths up to 40D are offered. The controls are microprocessor-based with an LCD as user interface (130 x 35 mm), function keys and data wheel. The drive and are heating zones are actuated via the function keys. The data wheel ( “ potentiometer function ” ) provides extremely fast access to the desired setpoint (s). Up to 4 barrel zones and up to 5 die zones are controlled and displayed, along with the melt temperature and melt pressure, screw rpm and motor current. A second drive, e.g. a melt pump, can also be incorporated.
