They are composed of a mechanical precision part which is used for deducing the size that a telescopic arm assumes (main arm, stabilizer, crosspieces, etc.) and of an electric joint with special contacts which transfers information from the end of the arm (cable stop, hook, anemometer, video camera, etc...). Inside they may be equipped with an electronic sensor which measures the angle assumed by the arm.
