Duncan's Linear Motion Position Sensors offer a wide variety of types and characteristics that give the designer several alternatives. All linear position sensors are made from infinite resolution conductive plastic, characterized by long-life and smooth, low-noise performance.
These devices are excellent replacement alternatives to linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs). Life ranges from 2,000,000 cycles (5 million dither cycles for such products as the 9600 Series Microminiature Linear Sensor) to 100 x 106 traverses (up to 12" stroke derated proportionately for longer units). Shaft lengths, interconnections (threaded shafts, lead wire or terminal contacts), and special housing configurations are available.
