Inkjet printing ink

With conventional inkjet printing, print heads mounted on a carriage spray ink droplets line by line onto the intermittently transported medium, reaching printing speeds of up to 2 m/min. and are therefore not of great interest for industrial applications. On the other hand, with the Durst single-pass printer, the print heads are rigidly mounted on arrays and span the full width of the medium. With the medium being continuously fed and passing underneath the print heads, printing speeds can reach up to 35 m/min.
There are a number of advantages of this digital printing technology. Firstly, there is an enormous cost saving for printing short runs. There is no requirement for engraved cylinders and therefore no delays for changing the cylinders for “print on demand”. Also, it is no longer necessary to keep a large variety of different inks and printed items in stock. Finally, designs and project-related designs can be directly implemented without the necessity of engraving cylinders or without time consuming colour matching. The same results can be repeated accurately, within seconds.
