BE 55 is a powerful and yet compact electro-hydraulic unit. The electric motor runs the spindle while the feed is both hydraulically powered and controlled. The hydraulic feed control together with position switches make it possible to include functions such as multi wall drilling, rapid advance and automatic chip removal.

Internal coolant supply has lots of advantages regarding precision, deep hole drilling and higher rpm/shorter drilling cycles. E2 offers a BE 55 with coolant feed through an ER32 chuck as an option. The ER32 collets to be used are special design to seal around the drill. Straight shaft drills with internal coolant feed that fits in a ER32 chuck can be found in the range from Ø5-20 mm, and Gundrills in the range Ø1.5-5 mm.
