Roller hearth furnace
EBNER
This type of furnace was specially developed for soft annealing to achieve globular cementite in medium and high-alloyed tool steels, high speed steels, cold heading and bearing steels.
After the hot rolling process the steel bar stock is covered with secondary scale. When you anneal this material in an EBNER roller-hearth furnace, in controlled conditions there is no additional decarburization to be dealt with in subsequent processing steps. We have even been able to demonstrate this in an EBNER production facility with an Si-alloy highly susceptible to decarburization.
In addition to complying with the primary objective of optimizing the material's mechanical properties, the EBNER design of roller-hearth furnace also avoids edge decarburization.
As well as taking care of the as-annealed quality factors, this design of furnace also minimizes process atmosphere consumption to improve economy.
