Aerosol monitor
Ecotech
The Aurora Nephelometer delivers increased accuracy in studying aerosols and their source of origin.
The effects of air pollution on human health and lifestyle are of a major concern today. There are many parameters contributing to air pollution, of which airborne particulates are a major contributor.
Nephelometers give indications of air quality by measuring the light scattering of aerosols in the air. This translates to visibility measurements and information for global warming studies.
The “new generation” of Aurora nephelometer are available in four models:
Aurora 1000 Nephelometer (single wavelength)
Aurora 2000 Nephelometer (PM2.5 correlation)
Aurora 3000 Nephelometer (3 wavelengths with backscatter)
Aurora 4000 Nephelometer (polar nephelometer)
The wavelengths are characterized as follows:
Blue : 450nm Fine & ultra fine particulates (wood fires, automobiles)
Green : 525nm Visibility (smog, fog and haze)
Red : 635nm Large particulates (pollen, sea salt etc)
Applications
- Visibility Measurements (Airports, City pollution, AAQMS)
- Dust/Sand storm monitoring and early detection networks
- Global warming studies (light scattering/radiation balance)
- Bushfire/pollution monitoring and early detection networks
- PM2.5 mass measurement correlation studies
Features
- Low power instrument (ideal for remote applications)
- Low maintenance
- Low cost of ownership
- Advanced LED light source
- Compact and portable
