This is an accurate, low-cost portable instrument for insulation measurement on electronic components, electric motors, armatures, coils and transformers. It is ideally suited for repair personnel and service centres. The instrument supplies an AC voltage adjustable between 0 and 4000Vrms (0 - 5000Vrms in the 8130B5 version) in two ranges, with automatic cut-out at a non-destructive current level, which can be set to 4 - 8 - 10 -12 -18 mA

The instrument supplies an AC voltage adjustable between 0 and 4000Vrms (5000 Vrms in the version 8170CF5). It contains a meter with a wide, clear scale, which continuously indicates the test voltage.
Dielectric strength tests are of the non-destructive type, with an automatic disconnection of the test voltage if the current exceeds a preset limit.
